Dental

Proper dental insurance is a source of concern for many Expatriates. Most companies do not include dental cover in the insurance plans offered to their employees, and even when such cover is offered, it is normally limited in the protection that it can offer. Dental care is generally costly in most countries and if you have bad teeth, insuring against the cost of dental treatment can be very beneficial. Most insurers offer two levels of dental coverage:

Routine Dental Treatment

Dental cover under this option includes:

  • Examinations
  • Fillings
  • Cleaning
  • Root Treatment
  • Emergency Dental Treatment
  • X-rays
  • Local anesthesia
  • Occlusion bar

Major Dental Treatment

This option covers almost all dental problems, including but not limited to:

  • Tooth Adjustment
  • Bridgework
  • Treatment of Periondontitis
  • Treatment of Gingivitis
  • Root Scaling and Membrane Treatment
  • Gold jackets, Porcelain Crowns, Temporary Crowns

Almost all insurance companies implement a waiting period before accepting any claims for dental treatments. Be sure to check with the insurance provider for specific policy conditions. Insurers do not normally exclude the coverage of pre-existing dental conditions (since everyone has pre-existing dental problems!). For more information please contact one of our expert advisors.
